John Schauf brings extensive experience in both fire service and operations management to his role at Fire Facilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. Early in his career, John gained valuable experience in the private sector, where he served as an Operations Manager and later as a General Manager, overseeing daily operations and leading new projects from research and design to budgeting and contracting.
In 1994, John joined the Kilbourn Fire Department, where he has been actively involved in a wide range of emergency response operations, including municipal and rural fire, EMS, and specialized rescue. Over the years, he has held roles such as Lieutenant, Instructor/Training Officer, and Company Captain. His commitment to the department also includes service on various committees focused on equipment, recruitment, retention, and fundraising. Additionally, John served as an Advanced EMT and Crew Chief on an ALS unit for the municipal ambulance service.
Since joining Fire Facilities Inc. in 2003 as a Regional Manager and consultant, John has successfully combined his knowledge of construction management with his fire and EMS experience to support quality training solutions. He has played a key role in the development of over 200 training facilities across the central United States, helping departments build safe and effective live fire training environments.
