Thirty years ago this autumn the first Fire Facilities Inc. fire training tower was put into service in Traverse City, Mich. Now, three decades later, the training tower is still actively used by firefighters in a variety of Michigan locations.

The Texas cities of Irving and Grand Prairie are dealing with their needs for fire training facilities in a unique way — by combining their efforts and budgets.

Training to be a firefighter requires commitment. At the Maine Fire Service Institute (MFSI), leaders also understand that the right training equipment, along with local support, is also needed.

In 2017, the Nashville Fire Department took a huge step forward. That’s the year they purchased The Commissioner training tower. With that investment, the future of NFD has changed.
